First marathon feat in 42 words

Posted by: digitaldash on: 02.10.2010

Teeming with gratitude,
I was molded by training
That involved discovering strengths and limits,
And overcoming self-doubts.
I drew inspiration
From within and from people,
Resonating the vigor to finish

To everyone.

The full marathon:
Once far-fetched and feared,
Now solely revered.

Hi Tracy!

I think we were running alongside each other for a while. I was wondering if the Tracy in front of me was you. Ikaw nga!

Congrats on your sweet finish! Truly a life changing experience worth doing again. =)

Hi Janine!

Yeah, that was probably me! I actually thought I saw you, too, and about to ask you at one point if you’re Janine of Pacecreative blog but then, we had to cross an intersection, so I had to save my breath. Haha.

Congrats on your finish, too, marathoner Janine! Wow, second FM in two months! Galing! :D

Thanks, Selle! :D
I guess the don’t-talk-about-running-a-day-before-FM rule doesn’t apply to me. Your advice certainly helped me on race day. Congrats on your second FM! :D You raced beautifully, as always!

Rare are the women who dare run the marathon.
Utmost respect we reserve for your breed.
Our deepest admiration for your fortitude and grace.
Where you dared go, may others follow.
While cheered by many, your marathon finish
is your achievement alone.

*** That congratulations in 42 words :-) ***

[...] Five months ago, my second and not-very-serious MTB fall made me want to stop trail biking. I wounded and bruised my left knee, and scratched both palms. While it may seem like a minor injury, I considered it a big deal because it aggravated the discomfort in my right knee and almost halted my training for my first full marathon. [...]
